It is hard to believe that we won the war five years ago
today. George Bush landed on the USS
Abraham Lincoln and declared the end of the war. In Fact, here is exactly what George Bush
said,
Thank you all very much. Admiral
Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow
Americans: Major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq,
the United States and our allies have prevailed. (Applause.) And now our
coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country.
In this battle, we have fought for the
cause of liberty, and for the peace of the world. Our nation and our coalition
are proud of this accomplishment -- yet, it is you, the members of the United
States military, who achieved it. Your courage, your willingness to face danger
for your country and for each other, made this day possible. Because of you,
our nation is more secure. Because of you, the tyrant has fallen, and Iraq is
free. (Applause.)
Operation
Iraqi Freedom was carried out with a combination of precision and speed and
boldness the enemy did not expect, and the world had not seen before. From
distant bases or ships at sea, we sent planes and missiles that could destroy
an enemy division, or strike a single bunker. Marines and soldiers charged to
Baghdad across 350 miles of hostile ground, in one of the swiftest advances of
heavy arms in history. You have shown the world the skill and the might of the
American Armed Forces.
This nation thanks all the members of
our coalition who joined in a noble cause. We thank the Armed Forces of the
United Kingdom, Australia, and Poland, who shared in the hardships of war. We
thank all the citizens of Iraq who welcomed our troops and joined in the
liberation of their own country. And tonight, I have a special word for
Secretary Rumsfeld, for General Franks, and for all the men and women who wear
the uniform of the United States: America is grateful for a job well done.
(Applause.)
Cappuccino Perino (Dana
Perino White House Press Secretary), when asked about the Mission Accomplished
banner scoffed, "President Bush is
well aware that the banner should have been much more specific and said
'mission accomplished' for these sailors who are on this ship on their mission.
And we have certainly paid a price for not being more specific on that banner.
And I recognize that the media is going to play this up again tomorrow, as they
do every single year."
But if you read the words George Bush used 5 long, long
years ago today you must arrive at the same conclusion I have reached. She is full of excrement and she doesn’t even
lie well. At least Tony SnowJob and Ari Fleischer
could at least fake some modicum of sincerity and humility. Not our cappuccino Perino. I truly think she would lie when the truth
would be better.
Just for the record.
-If you remember the White House first claimed that the banner was the
sailor’s idea, and the Bush advance team had absolutely nothing to do with it
-- the sailors just wanted to show how proud they were to be serving under
George W.
-Then they got caught. Oops. And just like a conservative caught with his
hand in the cookie jar. Lies, Lies, Lies
and when that fails, lie again. The White House claimed that they had indeed
had the sign printed but it was still all the sailors doing and George had
nothing to do with it. Plausible deniability. Just like Nixon.
-Now like a republican caught with his pants around his knees in a men’s
room stall they admitted to doing it but it still was someone else’s fault.
-And let’s not forget the fact that they had to turn the
ship around, wasting 100’s of gallons of fuel for the best possible photo op so
Mother Bar could have another photo of her little precious acting all
presidential.
Just remember. 2424
days since Osama Been Long Forgotten attacked this nation and he is still
walking this earth a free man.
